⁺ ✦ So…why Mailyth?

When I picked up Fire Emblem Three Houses for the first time, I missed the custom MU from Awakening and Fates. Don’t get me wrong, I love Byleth’s design and character, but I wanted to be more… self indulgent and have a MU that represented me for this story. A self insert for fun. The name Mailyth was conceived as a pun, but unfortunately it stuck so her name is like that forever I guess.

She’s changed a lot over the years that I feel she stands on her own as a character, and that she has her own story to tell, and I hope you like her regardless

Some notes….

• Her main story revolves her time with the Golden Deer. She does teach the other classes, but only in alternative timelines.
• When drawing her, keep in mind the hair colours in the reference images!

₊✧˚ Appearance

• Mailyth is a small young lady standing at 5’2 (157cm) tall. Don’t let her size fool you, she can, and will hurt you if she must.
• She has a small bust, with an almost flat and androgynous body. She was often mistaken as a boy as a child, so she grew her hair out in an attempt to look more feminine.
• Round face with chubby cheeks. Some say she looks like a chipmunk when feasting in the dining hall.
• Waist length hair styled into a blunt hime-cut. She doesn’t know why, but there’s almost like a small voice inside of her that tells her to cut it this way….
• (Pre-Sothis Fusion) Has dull dark brown eyes with dark blue hair, (Post-Sothis Fusion) has pale green hair with piercing pale green eyes. She doesn’t mind the change, but bright hair makes it harder to sneak off into the library at night.

Born with no heartbeat; never crying, never laughing, she always knew she was different. From the way people treated her to quiet mutters about her cold, unnerving blank expression, people began to suspect she was a soulless demon, and she believed it. Due to the nature of her father’s mercenary work, she never stayed in one place, and moved from town to town, unable to have any real connections with anyone.

On one fateful night, she was approached by three young nobles for aid as they were pursued by bandits. Risking her life for these youths, she felt something powerful, or rather, someone awakened inside her. This power took form of a young girl, unfamiliar, yet familiar at the same time. With this newfound power, the noble youths were rescued that night. Impressed by her skills she ended up at Garreg Mach Monastery where she landed her a job as a Professor.

While this new proposition was puzzling, she accepted it as maybe, this was the change she really needed.
